Trend: Kindle, Cafe= 幸せ!

Lack of updates despite it being holidays? Blame the kindle. I've got the Song of Ice and Fire series in there, by George R.R. Martin, as well as Murakami's 1Q84 trilogy inside, but I'm only on the third book (out of the 5) and haven't started Murakami yet. Am reading a lot faster though, since it's so convenient to just take out and read anytime. Plus, the battery is lasting amazingly long~ it's been 2 weeks and I haven't had to charge it. Yet.

Anyway, found this cute cafe called Tom n Toms Coffee. Started from after church, when a group of us went to Top Ryde City Centre, a shopping centre that was opened quite recently at North Ryde.

It is decorated very much like Hello! Happy, and MarioTokyo, those cafes and eateries you see in Strathfield. TomnToms is a Korean chain of cafe, and their interior always look so well decorated with handwritten quotes and scribbled drawings.

Loving their blue semi-transparent mug.

I wasn't feeling like coffee during late afternoon, so I ordered a cup of chrysanthemum tea. Even though they used a teabag (*sulk* where's the teapot and tea leaves), which is actually understandable because it's pretty much a take-away cafe like GJ and Starbucks, the flavor is still all there and the service was great. I shamelessly asked for hot water refill from the barrister and he was happy to oblige.

Cute takeaway cups, though I much prefer drinking out of mugs and actual ceramic cups.

This is from another day, at another cafe (Starbucks), with the same kindle and the same relaxing kindle break time~ I could do this everyday if coffees weren't so expensive out there =_= and if coffee machines weren't so expensive to get too.

Top Ryde is quite out of the way to go to, but a simple google search reveals another TomnToms- in City, Bathurst Street, next to Lumiere and the corner KFC. It's amazing how it's just right in front of my bus stop, and I fail to see it every week.

While the drinks from TomnToms aren't actually all that great, their food on the other hand... looks and tastes so good! They are well-known for their honey butter bread, which is basically two thick toasts, spread with butter, put together and toasted till crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, drizzled with honey and cinnamon, with a huge spiral of cream on top and more cinnamon.
It looks dangerous, but it's so good. You don't HAVE to finish all the cream if you don't want to, but it's a no-fail combo of butter, honey, cream and cinnamon.

Their garlic butter bread was really good too. They put some good quality cheese in between the two slices of toast before toasting it, so it melts and sticks the two pieces of toast together.

Since it seems that nowadays, everything Korean is "in trend", here's the latest MV from IU, which my brother has been posting on my fb and he himself is playing it on endless repeat. I'll admit though, IU is probably the best out of all the other Kpop stuff out there, though I'm kinda getting into T-ara, they've got good songs.

Dance version.

Story version.
